Initial Climate Change Impact Assessment (Form created August 2021)

The intention of this document is to help the council to gain an initial understanding of the impact of a project or decision on the environment. This document should be completed in consultation with the supporting guidance. Dependent on this initial assessment you may need to go on to complete a full Climate Change Impact Assessment. The final document will be published as part of the decision-making process.

Title of proposal	2023/24 Special School Funding
Brief description of proposal	The proposal relates to: · the setting of the level of the Special School Minimum Funding Guarantee to be used in determining special school budgets for the 2023/24 financial year. · the application of an assumed inflationary increase on the E3 Top Up / Banded funding for mainstream schools, special schools and PRS and alternative provision settings · the application of an assumed inflationary increase on the contextual funding received by special schools · the modification of the Special Schools funding formula to provide an additional lump sum payment is made to special schools of £100k per annum (to be paid on an academic year calculation) where residential provision is operational at the school, and where there are fewer than 20 pupils in residential provision.

It is important that we capture information about both positive and negative impacts to aid the council in calculating its carbon footprint and environmental impact.
